The daughter of veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has debunked viral reports claiming that the 66-year-old actor died after being rejected by several hospitals.
The death rumour circulated on Tuesday after a Facebook user falsely claimed that Ogogo’s daughter, Haleemah Taiwo, had announced his death.

The post alleged that the veteran actor had passed away after several hospitals refused to admit him and claimed he was survived by his wife, children and grandchildren.
However, Ogogo’s daughter, Lima Taiwo, dismissed the report in a post on Instagram, describing it as fake news.

“This is false!! This is false!!! THIS IS FAKE… PLEASE STOP SPREADING FAKE NEWS,” she wrote.
The clarification came less than 24 hours after Lima and her sister, Kira Taiwo, publicly appealed for urgent medical assistance for their father, who is battling stage four cancer.
In an emotional Instagram video shared on Monday, Lima revealed that Ogogo’s condition had deteriorated and alleged that some hospitals were unwilling to continue treating him.
According to her, the family only became aware of the seriousness of his condition about three weeks ago.
“We are not asking for money. We need medical assistance for our father,” Lima said, appealing to doctors, hospitals and individuals with access to specialised cancer treatment facilities to come to the actor’s aid.
In a separate video, Kira disclosed that the hospital currently treating Ogogo had informed the family that it could no longer administer chemotherapy.
She therefore appealed to oncologists, hospitals and medical institutions capable of providing further treatment to contact either her or Lima.
Ogogo has remained a prominent figure in the Yoruba film industry, having built a career spanning more than three decades and featuring in numerous Nollywood productions.
