Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has appealed to Nigerians to exercise patience with President Bola Tinubu’s administration, insisting that it is too early to judge the government’s performance.
Speaking in an interview with FeelrightnewsTV, Kosoko said the President should be given more time for his policies and reforms to produce meaningful results.
The veteran actor likened governing a country to constructing a building, arguing that no one can fairly assess a project before it is completed.
According to him, President Tinubu, like every other human being, is not perfect and cannot be expected to govern without making mistakes.
Kosoko maintained that every administration requires time to implement its agenda and address the nation’s challenges before it can be fairly evaluated.
He also accused critics of the current administration of shaping public opinion by promoting narratives that many Nigerians, particularly young people, accept without questioning.
The actor further alleged that some activists influence public perception despite allegedly benefiting from the government, while supporters of the administration are often accused of receiving financial incentives for expressing their views.
“If you are building a house, you cannot assess such a building and give it a pass mark until the building is completed. Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not God. That means he cannot be perfect. Give him more time to fix this country,” Kosoko said.
He added, “What those opposing Tinubu are projecting for you to say is what you will be saying. What they have crafted that they want you to carry in your head is what you will carry.
“They know you, Gen Z. You are easy to manipulate and control. Once they control you, you will all go on overdrive. The so-called activists, we know how they take money from government but come out to influence citizens. But when we talk, they accuse us of taking money to support the government. As if we don’t have a mind of our own, as if we have no family members suffering or as if we are enjoying well.”
