President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been declared the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election in Akwa Ibom State, securing a total of 389,197 votes.
The announcement was made at the State Collation Centre, Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, by the State Collation and Returning Officer, Governor Umo Eno. He described Tinubu’s victory as overwhelming and commended the peaceful conduct of the exercise across the state.
Governor Eno also urged APC members to intensify mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections, calling for stronger coordination to secure a more decisive victory for the party.
Reacting to the outcome, Senate President Godswill Akpabio praised Governor Eno for ensuring an unprecedented level of peace during the primaries. He contrasted the process with past elections in the state, which he said were often marred by violence, intimidation, and irregularities.
Akpabio further noted that Akwa Ibom “has never had it so good,” adding that continued support for Governor Eno’s second-term ambition is driven by performance and the need to sustain peace and stability in the state.
The APC State Chairman, Obong Stephen Ntukekpo, also congratulated both Akpabio and Governor Eno, describing the primary election as orderly, credible, and successful.
Similarly, the Secretary to the State Government and Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Prince Enobong Uwah, commended Governor Eno for his leadership in ensuring a smooth and peaceful electoral process across the state.
