Three people have sustained injuries while several shops were destroyed following a devastating fire involving a gas-laden truck in the Kwangila area of Zaria Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
The incident, which occurred along the busy Funtua–Zaria road, was confirmed by the Kaduna State command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
According to the FRSC, the truck, which was transporting gas, suddenly caught fire while it was stationed along the roadside. The flames escalated rapidly, spreading to nearby shops and causing extensive property damage.

Emergency response teams were swiftly deployed to the scene and managed to bring the situation under control, preventing the fire from spreading to surrounding buildings.
The injured victims were taken to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.

The FRSC reiterated the importance of strict adherence to safety regulations in the transportation of flammable materials, warning that failure to comply could lead to avoidable disasters like the one witnessed in Zaria.
