ABUJA — Nigeria’s political landscape will take center stage in the nation’s capital as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, lead an array of high-profile dignitaries to celebrate the 70th birthday of Gbenga Daniel with the unveiling of four major books.
The landmark event, set for April 1, 2026, at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, is expected to draw an influential mix of political heavyweights, traditional rulers, and key stakeholders from across Nigeria.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio will attend as Chief Guest of Honour, while Obasanjo is designated as Father of the Day. Former President Jonathan will chair the occasion, adding further prestige to the gathering.

The event will also feature the presence of the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, alongside prominent royal figures including the Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi and the Akarigbo of Remoland, Adewale Ajayi.
At the heart of the celebration is the unveiling of four publications that chronicle Daniel’s political journey, legal battles, and enduring legacy. The books include Daniel in the Lion’s Den (Revised Edition), My March Through the Court, Path to Justice, and Otunba Gbenga Daniel in the Eyes of Time.

Organisers say the event is not only a celebration of Daniel’s milestone age but also a reflection on his contributions to governance, law, and public service in Nigeria.
A host of dignitaries, including former and serving governors, lawmakers, and socio-cultural leaders, are expected to grace the occasion, underscoring the former Ogun State governor’s influence across political and traditional spheres.
The Abuja ceremony forms part of a week-long celebration, which will conclude with a grand finale in Lagos, marking a fitting tribute to a career widely described by supporters as impactful and enduring.
