He made this declaration at the public presentation of former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido’s autobiography, “Being True to Myself,” held at the NAF Conference Centre in Abuja.

Obasanjo, addressing the gathering, encouraged Sule Lamido and other prominent figures not to consider retirement, emphasizing their ongoing responsibility to guide Nigeria towards its desired destination.

“Our job is not finished until we are finished.” – Olusegun Obasanjo

“Nigeria that we are working for, we haven’t gotten there. And I believe it is the responsibility of each of us to ensure that we get there,” Obasanjo stated. “Our job is not finished until we are finished.”

The former president’s remarks underscored a sense of urgency and commitment, highlighting the unfinished business of nation-building and the enduring role of experienced leaders in shaping Nigeria’s future.

The event, which drew notable personalities, served as a platform for Obasanjo to reiterate his belief in the collective duty of leaders to steer Nigeria towards its potential.
