The producers of Buckwyld ‘n’ Breathless once again delivered on their promise, as concert goers who thronged Eko Hotel on October 20 for the much-hyped #Powerof1 concert got a satisfying fix of entertainment and fun, with an ample dose of pro-Naija inspiration, to boot.
Lead headliner 2Baba, at his most imperious in recent times, left the audience in raptures as he delivered a 3-part set that reaffirmed his status as Africa’s leading artiste of this generation.
Sandwiched between an enthralling “Power of 1” narrative brought to life by sizzling performance interpretation by Efe Money, DNMT, Andre Blaze, Timi Dakolo, African China, Sound Sultan, LeJit (Alexx Ekubo), Phyno, Falz and Bright Chimezie, 2Baba gave the audience a show to remember and a reason to believe and hop on the #PowerOf1 social movement train.
2Baba’s opening with the performance of “4 Instance Again” a single from the “Power of 1” original motion picture soundtrack featuring Sound Sultan and LeJit (Alexx Ekubo) offered a glimpse of what was to come and he kept the tempo steady rising to a rousing finale.
The power of social media was strongly felt as four Instagram sensations – @raybekah_, @v_sagzofficial, @cycloneartermis and @brodashaggi graced the Buckwyld ‘n’ Breatheless stage, with the latter trio performing their covers of the chart-topping single, “Amaka” alongside 2baba and Peruzzi.
Another key highlight of the evening was the screening of the sneak preview of the Izu Ojukwu-directed “Power of 1” the movie featuring Ramsey Nouah, Alexx Ekubo, Annie Idibia, Bimbo Manuel, Jibola Dabo, Michelle Dede, Jide Kosoko, Rachael Oniga, Lucy Ameh, and a host seasoned actors and big celebrity cameos. The 17-minute glimpse raised anticipation for the Buckwyld Media produced film expected to hit cinemas in December 2018.
Guests started their “Power of 1” experience for the night right from the tunnel designed to be a visual tribute to a league of extraordinary Nigerians who through patriotism and courage have taken action and achieved commendable results in various spheres on endeavour. They include the late Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh (Ebola containment) Segun ‘Segalink’ Awosanya (#EndSARS), Emmanuel Adukwu (Jos Chillin’), and Yemi Adamolekun of EiE (#OpenNASS).
At the end of proceedings, the broad smiles on the faces of guests was evidence that everyone had a fantastic time.
