2019: PDP plans Internet war against APC

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has charged its youths to ‎use the social media platform to expose the misgovernance of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Deputy National Chairman (South), ‎Elder Yemi Akinwumi, at‎ a meeting with the PDP National Youth Leader and coordinators of affiliate youth organisations, told the youths to devout three-quarter of their social media discussions to exposing the faults and mistakes of the APC government.

‎”Take charge of the Internet, control the internet. Let three-quarter of what we are going to read there be against the APC.

“Expose their faults and mistakes: the killing of farmers in Benue, the fuel scarcity that is affecting all of us, the APC convention that did not hold until today.

“Talk about the fall of the naira, unemployment everywhere. Fashola who said a serious government will fix power in six months, almost three years now, they have not done anything. Things are getting worse every day. They are using anti- graft agencies to chase the opposition around,” Elder Akinwumi‎ stated.

He noted that the APC anti-corruption war was selective, adding that when it is a matter involving APC members, “they set up an administrative panel of inquiry. If it is the PDP, they use the EFCC and the ICPC. Their anti-corruption crusade is selective. Let us be reading all these in the internet.

“Our campaign is very little if we can manage our youths very well. Even in the remotest part of the country, you must get something to read. Let us dominate the internet and the airwaves to expose them.”

Elder Akinwumi‎ further charged the National Youth Leader and the National Woman Leader to intensify youth and women mobilisation to ensure the success PDP in the 2019 general elections.

“There are two principal officers that are very important to us: the National Youth Leader and the National Women Leader. If these two departments can handle their assignments very well …we should go and sleep.

“We have all learned our lessons the hard way. We must do everything to return the PDP to power,” he emhasized.

PDP National Youth Leader, ‎Mr. Sunday Ude-Okoye, said the youth department would soon embark on nationwide retreats to sensitize youth leaders on grassroots mobilisation campaigns.

“We should also, as youth leaders, be conscious of the fact that it is our responsibility to educate all Nigerian youths on the need to vote for our party, secure the vote, defend themselves and their votes, and insist on the ‎announcement of the authentic results at every polling booth,” he advised.
