Author and lawyer Reno Omokri was silenced by a savage reply from nollywood actor Yul Edochie when be blamed the movie industry for the evil picture they have painted of Nigerians to the outside world
Reno’s argument was that the influx of “juju” related movies has contributed to the bad reception Nigerians receive abroad. He backed his claim with an experience he had in San Francisco, America.
He said that he was strolling around with Popular nollywood Actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo when a lady spotted him. Figuring she might want to snap a photo, the lady shouted at him when he went after his camera saying, “you need to utilize my photograph for juju”.
As indicated by him, hollywood films gives watchers the enthusiasm to travel abroad while Nollywood motion pictures makes one despise the nation.
Indeed, his accommodation didn’t soak in with the child of the lion, Yul Edochie responded saying that nollywood isn’t answerable for the messed up nation and that he ought not accuse them. He further inquired as to whether he (Reno) has quit applying for American visa subsequent to viewing vicious American motion pictures.
