The University of Abuja has appealed to the public for help in locating one of its students, who has been declared missing.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the institution identified the student as Sadiya Usman, a 100-level Accounting undergraduate who reportedly disappeared on Tuesday morning.
According to the statement signed by the Acting Director of Information and University Relations, Dr. Habib Yakoob, Usman was last seen leaving her residence at Kontagora Estate, Gwagwalada, Abuja, at about 8:00 a.m. on February 18, 2026. She was said to be heading to the university’s Main Campus to sit for her GST 111 Computer-Based Test (CBT) examination but has not been seen since.

A report filed by her guardian indicated that all attempts to reach her have failed, as her phone line remains unreachable and her whereabouts unknown.
The university disclosed that it has activated internal safety protocols and is collaborating with relevant security agencies to ensure swift action in locating the student.

Describing the situation as deeply concerning, the management urged members of the public with useful information to contact the nearest police station or report to the university’s Directorate of Safety.
The institution reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare and security of its students and assured that updates would be provided as investigations progress.
