The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) has confirmed the death of two persons in a lone road accident that occurred in the early hours of Friday along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
According to a statement issued in Abeokuta by TRACE spokesperson, Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, the crash happened at about 1:30 a.m. around Oremeji Bus Stop and involved a Mazda commercial bus with registration number YNF 414 XN.

Akinbiyi said the victims, identified as the driver and conductor of the vehicle, both adult males, died instantly at the scene of the accident. He noted that no other injuries were recorded.
Eyewitness accounts revealed that the bus, which was conveying live chicks, lost control due to excessive speed before crashing into a road barrier and somersaulting.

The spokesperson disclosed that the wreckage of the vehicle had been towed by the Ibafo Motor Traffic Division of the Nigeria Police for further investigation.
He added that the remains of the deceased were deposited at the Divine Touch Hospital morgue in Ibafo by operatives of TRACE, the police, and the Ogun State Emergency Services (OGSAES).
Akinbiyi further stated that traffic flow along the expressway was briefly disrupted during the rescue and recovery operation but was later fully restored through the combined efforts of TRACE and the police.
