Yoruba movie actress Mama No Network has made an emotional appeal to Nigerians to support fellow actress Aunty Ajara, who is battling a life-threatening liver-related illness, warning that her condition continues to worsen despite ongoing fundraising efforts.
Ajara, a small-screen actress who is also pregnant, was recently placed on oxygen in hospital, raising widespread concern after a viral video showed her tearfully pleading for financial help to cover mounting medical bills.

In a passionate plea, Mama No Network stressed that the appeal was not for entertainment or online content but a desperate call for assistance.
“This is not content. For God’s sake, I’m begging you. Ajara is in critical condition,” she said. “We need serious financial support and prayers.”

She revealed that although Ajara has been active in the movie industry, much of her earnings had gone into caring for her ailing mother, who is battling a stroke. Mama No Network added that the actress’ pregnancy and newly disclosed liver condition had further complicated her health challenges.
“She has been working, but she used her money to take care of her mother. Now she’s pregnant and also battling a liver-related illness,” she said.
The appeal has drawn support from several Nollywood figures, including Wumi Toriola, Mide Martins, Afeez Owo and Ronke Oshodi Oke, who have also called on the public to assist Ajara financially.
However, the campaign has sparked mixed reactions online, with some social media users criticising celebrities for soliciting public donations while allegedly spending lavishly at social events.
Other entertainers who have joined the call for support include actress Kemity, actor Jamiu Azeez, actress Bimpe Oyebade and singer Lanre Alewilese.
As appeals continue, colleagues and supporters say urgent intervention is needed to save Ajara’s life and that of her unborn child.
