In a tweet on Tuesday, December 25, the Kogi lawmaker claimed the plan is to inject him to death.

Melaye said the state commissioner of Kogi has been removed in order to perfect the plot.

He said: “There is a plan by the IG to arrest me today and inject me to death. Men deployed already. CP kogi and others removed. Nigerians watch out.

Meanwhile, Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi west senatorial district, on Wednesday, November 28, accused the state government of illegally withdrawing about $500 million.

Meyale made this accusation during a plenary. In his allegation, the senator claimed that the said fund was without the approval of the state House of Assembly.

The Senate, on its part, presided over by its president, Bukola Saraki, has resolved to set up an ad-hoc committee to carry out a thorough investigation into Melaye’s claims.

Reacting to the allegations, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Atai Aidoko Ali Usman, representing Kogi east constituency, said that the said withdrawal is unacceptable since it was done without the Senate’s backing.
