Sola Giwa, Special Adviser on Transportation to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has resigned from his position, signalling a move into elective politics.
Giwa announced his resignation on Wednesday via his official account on X, confirming he had stepped down from his role in the Lagos State government.
“It has been an honour to serve and contribute to the transformation of our transport system under the THEMES+ Agenda. I remain grateful to Mr Governor for the trust and opportunity,” he stated.

The former aide explained that his resignation follows extensive consultations and reflection, driven by his ambition to represent Lagos Island Federal Constituency II in the House of Representatives.
“After deep reflection and wide consultations, I am answering a higher call to represent the good people of Lagos Island Federal Constituency II,” Giwa said.

He added that his political ambition is centred on delivering stronger representation, advancing purposeful legislation, and creating tangible impact for his constituents.
Giwa’s exit marks a transition from executive advisory duties to frontline electoral politics, as he positions himself for a legislative role representing Lagos Island.
