Today, we visited the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso to discuss the challenges in the hospital. I conveyed my approval on a number of these issues:
1. Payment of 2014 corrected CONMESS.
2. Payment of COVID-19 hazard allowance.
3. Increased subvention to cover payment of minimum wage, payment of 2016 and 2017 arrears as well as payment of the salaries of 177 members of staff who were recalled.
4. These payments will be made by the end of this month.
5. A team will screen the 46 staff members who were disengaged from next Monday, and if the screening is successful, they will be reinstated.
6. Implementation of a pilot study for semi-autonomy for selected secondary healthcare facilities.
7. Implementation of residency training and placement of doctors who have completed their residency training from 2021.
I reiterated that although most of these issues were inherited from the previous administration, we are committed to resolving them while at the same time, ensuring that the good people of Oyo State reap all the benefits of good governance.
