Court documents revealed that the duo operated a fraudulent scheme between April 2023 and March 2024, using fake wire transfers to unlawfully acquire expensive items, including luxury watches and a car, without making payments.

Some of the fraudulent acquisitions include

Two watches valued at $480,000

Another watch worth $285,000

Janice Turner was the nerve center of this operation.

All the items were obtained using false payment methods and were **never paid for**, prosecutors said.

At her sentencing, U.S. District Court Judge David S. Leibowitz called Turner the “nerve center” of the entire operation.

Although her defense team requested leniency citing health concerns and charitable work, the court delivered the full five-year sentence.

Turner is also expected to be deported to Jamaica after completing her prison term.

This isn’t her first run-in with the law—she previously served over a year in federal prison for a 2006 bank fraud conviction.
