Senator Mpigi Barinada, who represented Rivers South East Senatorial District in the Senate, has died.
The news of his passing was confirmed on Thursday by Akin Alabi, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Works, in a tribute shared via his official X handle.
“Good night my dear friend. Rest in Peace, Senator Mpigi Barinada. Sen Mpigi represented Rivers South East in the Senate,” Alabi wrote.

Until his death, Senator Barinada served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Works, playing a key role in legislative oversight of infrastructure development across the country.
