An Osun State–based retired teacher, Celinah Alaba Adedapo, has died at the age of 76.
Madam Adedapo passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026, in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, just 17 days before her 77th birthday.
Her son, Olumuyiwa Adenrele Adedapo, announced her passing in a statement on behalf of the Adedapo and Oluwole families.

“The Adedapo and Oluwole families announce with deep sorrow but with gratitude to God for a life well spent, the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and matriarch, Madam Celinah Alaba Adedapo (née Oluwole), who died on Thursday, March 12, 2026,” the statement read.
According to the family, the late educationist was born on March 29, 1949, in Ijesa-Isu, located in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

Her son described her as a woman whose life was defined by service, faith and dedication to nurturing young minds.
“As a retired educationist, Mama devoted many years to nurturing young minds and contributing to the development of education in her community and beyond,” he said.
Nearly six decades ago, she married Albert Adeleke Adedapo, a retired civil servant and Head of the Eesa Compound in Aagba, Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State. Together, they built a family rooted in strong Christian values, love and service to humanity.
Madam Adedapo was also a devoted member of the Methodist Cathedral Church, Isale-Aro in Osogbo, where she and her husband played active roles in church activities and community service.
The family described her as a humble, kind and generous woman whose life was marked by compassion, faith and self-sacrifice.
She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings and extended family members, including Lagos-based businessman Olumuyiwa Adenrele Adedapo, Osun State civil servant Fadesayo Bamidele Adeniyi and her husband Oba Adesoji Chars Adeniyi, the Alagbeda of Agbeda-Ijesa, as well as Oluwatosin Joseph Adedapo, Abimbola Emmanuel Adedapo, and Olaide Ebenezer Adedapo.
The family said details of her burial and funeral arrangements will be announced later, while expressing appreciation for the prayers and support received during the difficult period.
