THE Jama’atul Nasirul Islam (JNI) and the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria ( SCSN), have voiced out that the recent discovery of the vehicle of retired General Ibrahim Alkali considered to have been killed and some other Muslims in a pond in Du Jos South Local government area of Plateau State must be unravelled to its logical conclusions.

Speaking at separate press conferences in Kaduna on Monday, the General Secretary of JNI and his counterpart in SCSN, Alh Nafiu Baba Ahmed, maintained that the perpetrators of these dastardly acts must be fished out and brought to justice.

While commending the Nigerian Army for taking a firm stand in spite of recent provocations by some women in the area, the Islamic bodies insisted that the body of the retired General must be found and others who were killed in similar circumstances.

This was even as they said, enough is enough of these orgies that are secretly being executed by some wicked ethnic chauvinistic elements and religious bigots.

The JNI scribe maintained that the Islamic body wouldn’t have joined issues with Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and former Plateau State governor, Jonah Jang, but for their recent statements.

“The National President of the Christian body was quoted as saying, “youths are being killed just because of a missing ex-soldier,” and Jang was quoted to have said, “Buhari could not be trusted with our security,” such vituperation is like that of an irresponsible opposition political party.

According to Abubakar, “had they not spoken from both sides of their mouths, over the needless religious political war drumbeating, JNI would have only called upon Muslims in the troubled area to calm nerves, as always.

He continued, “for the avoidance of doubt, Major General I M Alkali, is not just a missing ex-soldier but an incorruptible, deferential and fine gentleman that meritoriously served Nigeria for 35 years, he was as well the immediate past Chief of Administration, Nigerian Army.

“Therefore, the CAN President should watch his unguarded utterances; because patriotic Nigerians are pained over the sudden disappearance of the General, and from all clues so far, the General may have been slain.

“Is the CAN President holding brief for those that have committed the heinous act, Or has he any information on the where-about of the General?

“Certainly, patriotic Nigerians should be concerned about the circumstances leading to the so-called disappearance of the General. We strongly believe that the General’s blameless blood shall continue to haunt them all, in-shaa-Allah.

In the same vein, the SCSN scribe remarked that the authorities should go beyond draining the ponds in the area but to look for graves, saying, from the look of things there could be hidden mass graves lurking around the Du area and its environs.
