Oyo tanker crash fire near Iseyin contained by fire service as responders prevent explosion and restore traffic, no casualties recorded in incident
The Oyo tanker crash fire that occurred on Monday along the Iseyin/Oyo Road in Iseyin Local Government Area was successfully contained by the Oyo State Fire Service, preventing a potential disaster.

Eyewitnesses said the petrol tanker, bearing the number plate Lagos LM62XP, lost control while moving at speed, veered off the road, somersaulted into a ditch, and burst into flames.

Confirming the incident, Maroof Akinwande, Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, said the fire was reported at exactly 10:46 a.m. and emergency teams were immediately deployed.
The firemen quickly swung into action and prevented the flames from spreading or causing further damage.

He explained that the tanker was fully loaded with 45,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS)** and that chemical foam compound was used to suppress the flames.
Thanks to their swift response, no nearby buildings or vehicles were affected, and traffic was restored shortly after the scene was secured.
