Obasa Applauds Lagos APC Leadership After Successful State Congress
Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Obasa, has congratulated the newly elected executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lagos State Chapter, following the successful conduct of the party’s 2026 State Congress.
The congress, held on Tuesday, March 3, at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium (formerly Onikan Stadium), Lagos Island, ushered in a fresh set of party leaders, with Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi re-elected as the substantive state chairman for another term.
In a statement issued shortly after the exercise by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Dave Agboola, Obasa commended the peaceful and transparent manner in which the congress was conducted. He described Ojelabi’s re-election as a strong endorsement of his leadership and dedication to the growth of the party in Lagos State.

“Pastor Ojelabi has shown remarkable dedication and vision in steering the affairs of our party in Lagos. His return as chairman is a well-deserved recognition of his efforts to strengthen the APC and ensure its continued success,” Obasa stated.
The Speaker urged the newly elected executives to build on the party’s achievements by promoting unity, strengthening internal democracy, and consolidating APC’s dominance in the state.

He emphasized that the Lagos APC must continue to set the pace for progressive governance and political stability in Nigeria, noting that the commitment of delegates and stakeholders remains critical to sustaining the party’s success.
Obasa also extended his congratulations to all participants in the congress, praising their steadfast commitment to the ideals and vision of the party.
