Nigeria’s striker, Ademola Lookman, goal in the first half saw his team through to the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final, as Victor Osimhen’s nodding that made it second goal was disqualified by the video assistant referee, VAR.
Lookman’s goal was the difference on the scoreboard, but the Nigeria defenders were superb as they hardly allowed Angola any chances throughout the 90 minutes.
Lookman opened the scoring after good work from Moses Simon (41′).
Victor Osimhen thought he had made it 2-0 but VAR disallowed his headed goal (75′).
Nigeria will play in the semi-final on Wednesday against Cape Verde or South Africa.
