Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a China-based Nigerian businessman and two Angolan nationals after they excreted a total of 236 wraps of cocaine at two major international airports.
Airport Interceptions in Abuja and Kano
The 34-year-old businessman, Ibeanu Vincent Chukwudulue, was intercepted on February 4, 2026, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport while attempting to board a Qatar Airways flight from Kano to China via Abuja and Doha.
He later excreted 52 pellets of cocaine weighing 735.95 grams.
On the same day, two Angolan nationals—Mbandu Martins Makiadi (50) and Ngoma Wilson Fernando (52)—were apprehended at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport en route to Istanbul, Turkey.

The duo excreted 76 and 108 cocaine pellets respectively, with total weights of 920 grams and 1.33 kilograms.
According to NDLEA sources, the suspects confessed they were recruited by a Luanda-based automobile dealer who promised to pay each of them $3,000 upon successful delivery of the drugs in Turkey.

Convicted Kingpin Linked to Fresh Attempt
In Lagos, NDLEA operatives foiled an attempt by convicted drug kingpin Olashupo Michael Oladimeji to export 1.10 kilograms of cocaine concealed in processed cassava granules, popularly known as “garri,” to London.
Oladimeji, Chief Executive Officer of Dimeji Express Logistics, is currently serving a five-year jail term at Ikoyi Correctional Centre. His staff member, Adedeji Yusuf Gbolahan, was arrested after presenting the illicit consignment for export.
Estate Surveyor, Others Arrested
In another case, a 44-year-old estate surveyor, Adelaja Taiwo Adetayo, was arrested for attempting to export 1.70 kilograms of skunk concealed in five jerry cans to the United Kingdom. NDLEA also apprehended the cargo agent, Mustapha Quddus Opeyemi, in connection with the shipment.
Nationwide Raids and Seizures
The anti-narcotics agency recorded additional breakthroughs across the country:
In Abuja, 59.2 grams of Canadian Loud cannabis concealed inside a children’s toy guitar were recovered, leading to the arrest of Henry Onuma.
In Lekki, Lagos, NDLEA raided a four-bedroom duplex allegedly used for the production of “Colos,” recovering 13.2 kilograms of synthetic cannabis and precursor chemicals. Suspect Victor Oyedeji was arrested.
In Ibadan, Oyo State, a suspected drug dealer, Oluwayemisi Bunmi (45), was arrested with 1.189 kilograms of Colos/skunk, 320 grams of methamphetamine, ₦2,975,000 in cash, and two vehicles.
In Kwara State, operatives recovered 105,400 tramadol pills from a suspect, Kamilu Abdullahi (43).
Sustained Crackdown
The latest arrests underscore NDLEA’s intensified crackdown on international drug trafficking networks and local distribution rings, with authorities reiterating their commitment to intercepting illicit substances at airports, seaports, and within communities nationwide.
