The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has disowned a press release circulating on social media claiming that the agency is planning a recruitment exercise, describing the information as fake and misleading.
The Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye, issued the clarification on Wednesday, warning Nigerians to be vigilant and avoid falling victim to fraudsters exploiting the false announcement.

According to Adeyeye, although NAFDAC periodically conducts recruitment exercises to employ qualified Nigerians, the circulating press release did not originate from the agency and should be disregarded entirely.
“The purported recruitment announcement making the rounds on social media is fake and was not issued by NAFDAC,” the DG stated.

She cautioned that such fraudulent messages are often designed to deceive the public and extort money from unsuspecting job seekers.
“Fake press releases are being circulated to mislead the public, often with the intent of extorting money from unsuspecting applicants. Members of the public are advised to disregard such information and always verify official updates directly from NAFDAC’s website or recognized media channels,” Adeyeye said.
The NAFDAC boss urged Nigerians to exercise caution when engaging with recruitment-related information attributed to the agency and to rely solely on verified and official communication platforms for accurate updates.
