Popular Nollywood actor and filmmaker Segun Ogungbe has addressed long-standing rumours surrounding his personal life, clarifying that his wife and his babymama were never friends.
Speaking during a recent programme appearance, the Yoruba movie star dismissed the widely circulated claim that his wife, Tinuke Ogungbe, and his babymama, Wunmi Ajiboye, shared a close relationship.
According to Ogungbe, the narrative was fabricated and spread on social media.

“My wife and my babymama were never friends. The rumour of them being friends was a lie generated from social media,” he said.
The actor explained that the false story was started by a woman who admired him and had repeatedly pressured him to marry her.

Ogungbe revealed that the woman became upset after learning that he had impregnated another woman outside wedlock.
According to him, the situation triggered the online claims that later went viral.
He said the admirer had previously supported some of his movie projects financially and reacted angrily when she heard the news.
“She had always been on my neck to marry her, but I told her I would never marry more than one wife,” Ogungbe explained.
He added that after discovering he had gotten another woman pregnant, she allegedly took to social media to spread the claim that his wife and his babymama were close friends — a story that was later amplified by blogs.
The actor said entertainment blogs picked up the claim from social media without verifying its authenticity, further fueling public speculation about his marital life.
“It’s not true,” Ogungbe stressed, reiterating that the two women had never shared a friendship from the beginning.
