Moyo Lawal Opens Up on Healing and Renewal After 2023 Viral Video Ordeal

Popular Nollywood actress Moyo Lawal has spoken candidly about her journey toward emotional healing following the circulation of a leaked intimate video in 2023, an experience she says took a profound toll on her mental and emotional well-being.

Known for her vibrant personality and confidence, the actress revealed that the incident left her heartbroken and prompted her to withdraw from public life as she focused on recovery and self-reflection.

In a recent personal reflection, Moyo disclosed that the painful episode pushed her to make deliberate changes, prioritising inner growth, values, and purpose as she embraced a new chapter in her life.

“Healing comes in different forms,” she said, openly acknowledging her vulnerability. Marking her birthday on January 1, 2026, the actress expressed gratitude to those who supported her during her silence. “Thanks to everyone who heard my voice when I didn’t speak,” she added, noting that she is now looking forward to a fresh beginning.

Moyo admitted that stepping away from social media and public engagements was necessary to regain emotional balance and clarity. She described the period of absence as essential to her well-being and personal development, helping her redefine her lifestyle and relationships.

While critics at the time attributed her ordeal to her bold online presence and glamorous image, the actress has chosen to focus on healing rather than controversy. Today, Moyo Lawal says she is emerging stronger, wiser, and more intentional about the life she wants to lead.
