His Exc., The Senator, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has expressed his profound gratitude to God Almighty for the safe return of Hon. Maruf Musa, a former lawmaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, who was abducted on Tuesday, 30th December 2025, while praying around 8:00pm in Ibiade, Ogun Waterside Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Senator Daniel express his deep appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, the Director General, Department of State Services (DSS), the Commissioner of Police, the Director of the DSS, Ogun State Commands, and all security agencies whose professionalism, dedication, and tireless efforts were instrumental in ensuring the safe rescue and return of Hon. Musa after about three days in captivity. Their swift response and coordinated intelligence operations once again reaffirm the commitment of our security institutions to the protection of lives and property.
Senator Daniel also extends heartfelt gratitude to the good people of Ogun State, and most especially the people of Ogun East Senatorial District, for their overwhelming prayers, concern, and moral support during this trying and emotionally draining period. The collective show of love, solidarity, and faith was deeply moving and stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of our people.
“This incident was a painful reminder of the fragility of life and the urgent need for sustained collective action against insecurity,” His Excellency noted. “However, the safe return of Hon. Maruf Musa strengthens our hope and renews our confidence that with unity, prayer, and professional security engagement, evil will not prevail over our land.”
Otunba Gbenga Daniel prays for complete healing, physically, emotionally, and psychologically, for Hon. Maruf Musa and his family, and reassures the people of Ogun East and Ogun State at large of his continued commitment to initiatives and collaborations that promote safety, peace, and the well-being of all citizens.
