The Lagos State Government has released a comprehensive traffic advisory to help residents navigate expected congestion as Bola Ahmed Tinubu begins a two-day official visit to the state.
The President’s visit, which includes the inauguration of several key projects, is expected to impact traffic flow across major parts of the city. Authorities say the temporary road closures are necessary to ensure public safety and the smooth execution of scheduled events.
According to the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, motorists are strongly advised to plan their journeys ahead of time and avoid affected routes during designated hours to minimise delays.

The advisory indicates that the inauguration of the Opebi-Mende Link Bridge will take place today between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., with traffic disruptions expected around Opebi-Allen, Ikeja, and Ojota corridors. Road users in these areas are encouraged to use alternative routes.
On the second day of the visit, two separate events scheduled between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. will affect movement in Olodi Apapa and Ajegunle, particularly due to the commissioning of the Tolu Schools Complex.

Later in the day, another event will hold on Victoria Island between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., further impacting vehicular movement in the area.
Traffic management officials, including personnel from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, will be deployed across affected routes to manage traffic and assist commuters.
The government has appealed to residents to cooperate with traffic officials and strictly adhere to all directives to ensure smoother movement during the President’s visit.
This marks the third state visit by the President in recent days, following earlier trips to Plateau and Ogun states, as part of official engagements across the country.
