The 2027 re-election ambition of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received fresh grassroots backing in Lagos following the launch of a political support group by a team of 2025 councillorship aspirants.
The group, branded the Renewed Hope Agenda ’27 Movement, was unveiled in Lagos by aspirants who contested the 2025 local government elections in Apapa-Iganmu LCDA. According to a statement jointly signed by Hon. Emmanuel Dede (Coordinator) and Hon. Adamson Omobolaji (Secretary), the platform was created to demonstrate unwavering support for Tinubu’s leadership and second-term agenda.
The movement was launched in partnership with the Executive Chairman of Apapa-Iganmu LCDA, Hon. Jimoh Olawale Saliu.

Grassroots Mobilisation for 2027
At the inauguration event, members highlighted their contributions to the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s recent e-membership registration and Permanent Voter Card (PVC) registration drives, pledging to intensify mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
They reaffirmed their readiness to work for what they described as a “resounding victory” for the ruling party.

The statement noted that the chairman of Apapa-Iganmu LCDA urged members to remain united, avoid divisive caucus politics, and align with the broader objectives of the APC.
He emphasised respect for party elders and leaders, reminding the aspirants that political dynamics can shift and today’s critics could become tomorrow’s allies.
While declaring loyalty to the President’s Renewed Hope agenda, the group also appealed for greater inclusion within party structures.
The aspirants called on President Tinubu, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the APC National Chairman, Lagos State APC leadership and Lagos Central Senatorial District leaders to consider their members for positions such as Supervisory Councillors and Senior Special Assistants (SSA).
They also expressed interest in participating actively in the upcoming party congresses at ward, local government and state levels.
Call for Development in Apapa-Iganmu
Beyond political considerations, the movement urged both federal and state governments to prioritise developmental projects in Apapa-Iganmu LCDA.
They called for improved infrastructure, increased banking presence and the establishment of factories and industries to stimulate economic growth in the area.
The LCDA chairman, in his remarks, stressed the importance of maintaining peace and stability, noting that a secure environment is essential for attracting investment and fostering sustainable development.
The event concluded with the presentation of an Award of Excellence to Hon. Saliu in recognition of what the group described as his inclusive and unbiased leadership style.
With the Renewed Hope Agenda ’27 Movement now formally launched, the councillorship aspirants say they are prepared to play an active role in mobilising grassroots support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition while seeking broader participation in party affairs.
