Iranian officials have confirmed for the first time that the country’s new leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, was injured during airstrikes in the early stages of the ongoing conflict that reportedly killed several members of his immediate family.
The strikes allegedly resulted in the deaths of his father, mother, wife, and one of his sons.
The 56-year-old cleric, recently named successor to his father, has not appeared publicly or issued direct communications since the outbreak of hostilities.

Tehran’s ambassador to Cyprus, Alireza Salarian, disclosed in an interview with The Guardian UK that the Iranian leader sustained multiple injuries.
“I have heard that he was injured in his legs, hand, and arm. I believe he is hospitalized due to his injuries,” the diplomat said.

Meanwhile, the conflict involving Iran, Israel and the United States shows no immediate signs of de-escalation despite growing international concern.
Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, said military operations would continue indefinitely until the country achieves its strategic objectives.
“The operations will proceed without any time limit, as long as necessary, until we accomplish all objectives and secure victory in the campaign,” Katz said.
US President Donald Trump has offered mixed messages about the progress and duration of the conflict.
During remarks in Washington earlier this week, Trump described the war as potentially short-lived but later suggested that more military action may be required.
Speaking at a rally in Hebron, Kentucky, the president declared that the United States had already achieved significant success in the conflict.
“You never want to declare victory too soon. We won. It was over in the first hour,” Trump said.
He added that US forces had destroyed 58 Iranian naval vessels, while noting that operations would continue to ensure lasting results.
“We don’t want to leave prematurely… we must finish the job,” he said.
Governments around the world are increasingly concerned that the conflict could trigger wider economic instability, particularly through rising global oil prices.
Leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) have been discussing the war and its potential economic impact during high-level meetings.
Trump, referencing the discussions in a brief video released by the French presidency, said decisions taken by the group were having a significant influence on global developments.
“I believe we are having a tremendous impact, actually unbelievable, on the world,” he said.
The conflict continues to raise fears of broader regional escalation and long-term economic repercussions.
