The social media space in Nigeria was jolted just few days after the new year celebrations over the health state of APC National leader, Asiwaju Bola Hamed Tinubu. The reports were so strong and assertive as close political allies who should be in the know claimed he needs prayers as he is down with the dreaded Covid-19. His whereabout also made the unconfirmed stories strong as he was not visibly seen anywhere aside his visit to the Northern parts of Nigeria before the Christmas celebrations. The reports of his critical condition claimed that he is hospitalised in France at a specialist facility.
MetroNews findings revealed that the report might not be totally true as his media aide and close assistant Tunde Rahman responding to questions on the true state of his boss stated that the reports are not only false but unfounded. According to Tunde Rahman “That’s a lie from the pit of hell. Asiwaju is very okay. He is very fine and not sick. He does not have COVID-19. If you must know, we have done COVID-19 test 15 times, each time he felt we had travelled and mingled with many people and could be vulnerable even though he always wore his face mask, but he has been certified negative 15 times. Yes he is abroad. Not in France, but in London resting. So you can see the falsity in that information you talked about. Thank you”.
