APC shuts down its national secretariat in Abuja following the murder of Director AbdulRauf Adeniji. Discover the party’s mourning plans and response
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the closure of its national secretariat, commonly known as Buhari House in Abuja, following the tragic murder of its Director of Administration, AbdulRauf Adeniji.

The decision, conveyed in a memo titled “Secretariat closure for the mourning of the director of administration,” was made public on Thursday.

AbdulRauf Adeniji, who was kidnapped weeks ago, was reportedly killed last month. The ruling party announced that the secretariat closure would take effect immediately and continue until Monday, April 14, 2025.
The APC has advised all staff to use the mourning period for sober reflection and to offer prayers for the family and loved ones of the deceased. Additionally, a condolence register will be opened at the National Secretariat in his honour.

The memo, which detailed the closure, read, “The National Secretary has approved the closure of the National secretariat from all party/work activities with immediate effect till Monday 14th April 2025.
This decision was made after he had received the news of the sad demise of the Director of Administration, the Late Hon. AbdulRauf Adekunle Adeniji.”
