The APC Initiative for Good Governance (APC-IGG) has applauded President Bola Tinubu for ongoing reforms in Nigeria’s military pension administration, describing the moves as a step toward improved institutional efficiency and welfare for retired service personnel.
In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, the group’s National President, Ambassador Musa Tsoken, praised the recent approval of Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Idris Adamu (rtd) as Chairman of the Military Pensions Board, noting that the decision reflects the administration’s commitment to placing competent and experienced professionals in key governance positions.
Tsoken said the appointment signals a deliberate effort to strengthen pension administration systems and improve the wellbeing of military retirees through effective leadership and reform-driven management.

He also urged the federal government to ensure the immediate implementation of the presidential directive, stressing that Air Vice Marshal Adamu should be allowed to assume office without further delay.
According to him, prompt assumption of duty would enable the retired senior officer to apply his extensive background in military finance, budgeting, and institutional administration to enhance operational efficiency within the pension system.

The APC-IGG president cautioned that delays in executing presidential appointments could weaken institutional processes and undermine public confidence in governance.
“All arms and agencies of government are constitutionally required to implement presidential directives promptly and in good faith,” Tsoken stated, adding that timely execution strengthens the rule of law and promotes administrative stability.
He emphasized the importance of smooth transitions in public institutions and adherence to due process to ensure continuity and effective service delivery.
Tsoken further called on the Presidency, the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and other relevant bodies to resolve any outstanding administrative issues surrounding the appointment.
He said swift action would reinforce the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in ensuring that retired military personnel receive improved and timely pension services.
Reaffirming the group’s support for the Tinubu administration, Tsoken pledged continued collaboration with stakeholders to promote transparency, discipline, and efficiency in governance.
He added that prompt resolution of the matter would demonstrate the maturity of Nigeria’s democratic institutions and reinforce respect for constitutional authority.
