A political advocacy group, Anambra Patriots, has declared its readiness to support credible candidates contesting for elective positions at various levels of government in Anambra State, provided they demonstrate a commitment to good governance and accountability.
The National Chairman of the group, Damian Enekwechi, made the pledge during the group’s General Assembly meeting held in Awka.
Enekwechi noted that the organisation was prepared to mobilise grassroots support for aspirants who possess the capacity and willingness to deliver transparent and effective leadership.

According to him, the meeting also provided an opportunity to recognise the contributions of the group’s 326 ward coordinators for their role in the re-election campaign of Chukwuma Soludo during the 2025 Anambra State gubernatorial election held on November 8.
The group was reportedly among more than 50 support organisations that worked collectively to mobilise voters in favour of the incumbent governor.

“We believe in the slogan that whoever rules well should be returned. You are our foot soldiers,” Enekwechi told members during the gathering.
He added that the number of support groups involved in the campaign effort grew significantly as the election approached.
“We were about 56 support groups before the November poll. At some point, even husband and wife formed their own support groups,” he said.
The group reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots mobilisation and political participation in Anambra State, emphasising that its support would continue to be guided by the principles of accountability, performance, and good governance.
