Afon Community in Asa Local Government Area has eulogised the Senate President , Dr. Bukola Saraki for initiating and ensuring the take off of construction of Afon- Aboto- Oyo State boundary road project by the Federal Government.
A statement by the Secretary of Afon Community, Alhaji Idris Ayinla said the community was overwhelmed with the take off of the road project,pointing out that the construction of the road would fast track the socio- economic emancipation of the area and enhance the revenue profile of the State.
The statement which described Afon as the cradle of Saraki Political dynasty, said the community would continue to appreciate the kind gesture of the Senate President, noting that the community had benefitted greatly from the government of continuity since 2003.
The statement also praised the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly Dr. Ali Ahmad for his pivotal role in ensuring that the project saw the light of the day, pointing out that the Speaker in particular and the House by extension, had demonstrated responsiveness to the yearnings of the people of the state.
The community equally applauded the state government and the federal Ministry of Works in the state for fast tracking the immediate take off of the road project and urged the federal government to ensure adequate funding of the project to completion.
The statement then expressed the unflinching support of Afon Community in particular, Afon Constituency and Asa Local Government to Saraki’s political dynasty and the All Progressives Congress led government in the State.
It noted with delight that Kwara state was under going great transformation, with Dr. Bukola Saraki as the nation’s number three man.
