Popular broadcaster and Arise Television Morning Show anchor, Rufai Oseni, has questioned presidential aspirants seeking Nigeria’s highest office without providing details of their primary school education in documents submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Oseni made the remark in a Facebook post on Sunday following the publication of the personal particulars of candidates contesting the 2027 presidential election.

Reacting to the nomination documents, the media personality wrote: “People that can’t tell you their primary school want to be your president and Nigerians will vote them.”

His comment followed the commencement of INEC’s public display of the personal particulars, academic qualifications and other statutory documents submitted by presidential candidates for public scrutiny.

Among the documents released, President Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), listed only his Bachelor of Science degree from Chicago State University as his educational qualification. The sections designated for his primary and secondary school attendance years were filled with “0000.”

Meanwhile, the documents submitted by the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, contained educational histories beginning from their primary school education.

INEC explained that the publication of the nomination documents marks the beginning of the statutory period for public inspection. During this period, any individual who believes a candidate submitted false information in an affidavit may challenge the claims in court in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act.
