President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Elegushi of Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, Kusenla III, on the occasion of his 50th birthday, praising his leadership style and commitment to grassroots development.
In a statement released on Friday through his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the President extended warm felicitations to the monarch, the Council of Chiefs, the Lagos State Traditional Council, and residents of Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom.
Tinubu lauded the monarch for his sustained efforts in improving the welfare of his people through impactful initiatives in education, healthcare, and entrepreneurship since ascending the throne 16 years ago.

He further commended Oba Elegushi’s ability to harmonise traditional values with modern governance practices, noting his embrace of technology and global best standards to advance development in agriculture and skills acquisition within the kingdom.
Reflecting on their long-standing relationship, Tinubu recalled the monarch’s years of service in his administration when he served as Special Assistant between 2003 and 2007, and later as Senior Special Assistant from 2007 to 2010 during his tenure as Governor of Lagos State.

According to the President, Oba Elegushi consistently demonstrated empathy, wisdom, and compassion in public service—qualities he said have continued to define his reign on the throne.
“Oba Elegushi has demonstrated vision, grace, wisdom, and courage in balancing tradition and modernity,” Tinubu stated.
“I am not surprised by your leadership and the positive impact of your reign, as you consistently showed deep empathy and compassion while serving as my aide during my time as Governor of Lagos State,” he added.
The President concluded by praying for long life, good health, and continued wisdom for the monarch as he continues to serve his people, Lagos State, and Nigeria.
