Kebbi Assembly Speaker Muhammad Zuru Dies in Egypt After Illness

The Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Zuru, has died.

His death was confirmed in a press statement issued by an Assembly official, Murtala Diri, via his official Facebook page.

Until his passing, Zuru represented the Zuru Constituency and presided over the 10th Kebbi State Assembly, where he was widely regarded as a key political figure within the Zuru Emirate.

Popularly known as Lifiddan Zuru, the late Speaker reportedly died on Monday evening in Cairo, where he had been undergoing medical treatment.

“The death of the Speaker is a significant loss to his constituents, the legislative body, and the state in general,” the statement read.

Authorities added that details regarding burial arrangements and official condolences will be announced by the Kebbi State Government and the family of the deceased in due course.
