Controversial street-pop artiste Portable has publicly declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, arguing that continuity in leadership is key to maintaining peace in Nigeria.
In a video widely circulated on social media, the singer urged Nigerians to rally behind Tinubu in the next election cycle, warning that a change in leadership could trigger instability.
“Nigeria, my country, we need peace. If you do not want war, vote for Tinubu,” Portable said, drawing comparisons to global conflicts and stressing the need for stability.

The artiste also made remarks referencing ethnic alignment, insisting that it is the turn of the Yoruba to complete a second term in office, while cautioning against any lack of support from within the region.
His comments have since sparked mixed reactions online, with critics and supporters debating the role of celebrity endorsements and ethnic sentiments in Nigeria’s political discourse.

Portable’s endorsement adds to the growing list of public figures weighing in ahead of the 2027 general elections, as political conversations continue to intensify across the country.
