Leading presidential aspirant of the African Democratic Party (ADC), Peter Obi, on Tuesday took his campaign to the grassroots with an early morning tour of several Area Councils in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) ahead of the forthcoming council elections.
Obi disclosed in a post on X that he set out as early as 6:30 a.m. from his office in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) to engage directly with residents and reinforce his vision of people-centred leadership.
His first stop was Abaji Area Council, where he campaigned alongside Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim, the ADC chairmanship candidate. During the visit, Obi embarked on a one-hour walk through the community, interacting with residents and listening to their concerns.
From Abaji, the former Anambra State governor proceeded to Kwali Area Council to support Hon. Jeremiah Badoji, the ADC chairmanship candidate. There, he again toured the community on foot, stressing that effective leadership must be accessible and firmly rooted in the everyday realities of the people.
Obi later visited Zuba in Gwagwalada Area Council, where he canvassed support for Pharmacist Iko Danjuma, the ADC chairmanship candidate, before heading to the bustling Deidei Market.
At the market, Obi engaged traders and residents while soliciting support for Dr. Moses Paul, the ADC chairmanship candidate for AMAC.
Throughout the engagements, Obi reiterated his commitment to inclusive development and grassroots-driven leadership, noting that governance must prioritise the welfare and aspirations of ordinary citizens.
