Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode has poured encomiums on her senior colleague and former boss, Funke Akindele, following her historic box office feat.
The Nation reported on Monday that Akindele made history as the first filmmaker in Nigeria to gross N2 billion at the box office with her movie, Behind The Scenes, setting a new benchmark in the industry.
Reacting to the achievement in an emotional Instagram post, Olayode described Akindele as an exceptional woman whose success is rooted in years of consistency, resilience and hard work.
According to her, the award-winning actress and filmmaker did not stumble into success but earned it through tireless effort, sacrifice and unwavering determination, even in the face of pain and adversity.
Olayode noted that Akindele has continually set the pace in Nollywood, opening doors to new possibilities and inspiring others to believe that greater milestones are achievable.
She said Akindele first redefined success by breaking the billion-naira barrier and has now raised the bar again by proving that N2 billion and more is possible.
“I’m so glad that God continues to crown your efforts with great grace and success. You didn’t get here by chance or by fluke; it’s many years of hard work, sweat, tears and blood,” Olayode wrote.
She congratulated Akindele, as well as the entire cast and crew of Behind The Scenes, while praying for continued grace, strength and greater victories for the box office queen.
Olayode concluded by describing the achievement as a testament to God’s faithfulness and a major win for Nollywood.
