Emotions ran high in Lagos on Friday as the Nollywood community gathered to bid farewell to late actress, writer and director, Allwell Ademola, whose life and contributions to the Nigerian film industry were fondly celebrated.
Ademola passed away on December 27 at the age of 49 after suffering a heart attack at her residence. Renowned for her creative depth and versatility, she made a lasting mark on Nollywood both in front of and behind the camera.
Her final rites began with a candlelight procession and memorial service at the Lagos State Television premises in Ikeja, drawing colleagues, friends and admirers who came to pay their respects. She was later laid to rest at the Atan Cemetery in Yaba, Lagos.
Several prominent industry figures were in attendance, including Rotimi Salami, Toyin Abraham, Afeez Owo, Saidi Balogun and Adedoyin Kukoyi.
Best remembered for her roles in notable productions such as Ile Wa, Third Eye and Mimi’s Voice, Allwell Ademola leaves behind a rich legacy that continues to resonate with fans and the Nollywood community at large.
