For the second time in two years, controversial street-pop star Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has launched a blistering public attack on his father, declaring that his life is better without him.
Days into the New Year, the Zazu crooner took to Instagram Live in a highly charged video, accusing his father of neglect, manipulation and financial exploitation, while also warning him against what he described as spiritual intimidation.

The explosive outburst comes on the heels of a reported physical altercation between Portable and one of his baby mamas, Asabi, further fueling public attention around the singer’s turbulent personal life.
During the nearly 10-minute live session, Portable lamented that his father allegedly disappears whenever he faces trouble with the police or family disputes but resurfaces to benefit financially from his success. He claimed his father maintains contact with his partners solely for monetary gain.

“Even my dad is only interested in collecting money from me,” Portable said. “There’s no time I’ve been arrested that he came to help me. But he collects my baby mamas’ numbers to collect money from them.”
The singer further accused his father of overinflating construction costs while handling building projects for him, alleging financial deceit during the construction of his house. According to Portable, figures for building materials and roofing were deliberately exaggerated to siphon money.
He also claimed that his father re-entered his life only after he became famous, insisting that he was not present during his upbringing or education. In an emotional moment, Portable referenced the death of his mother, stating that she would have protected him if she were still alive.
“My life is good without you. You didn’t take care of me or send me to school,” he said. “When there is war, you will be absent.”
The singer went on to accuse his father of attempting to take over his properties, including cars and personal belongings, while drawing parallels to the late singer Mohbad, whose death continues to stir controversy.
Portable also defended his aunt, Alhaja, whom he said raised and supported him through police arrests and difficult periods. He accused his father of cutting ties with her and spreading allegations of ritual practices in order to isolate him financially.
“If not for Alhaja, I wouldn’t be here today,” Portable said, crediting her for his survival and success.
The rant ended with a firm declaration of independence, as the singer vowed to protect his life, children and properties, insisting that no one would “inherit” him or control his destiny.
As expected, the video has sparked intense reactions across social media, with fans and critics divided over the deeply personal revelations and the singer’s decision to air family disputes in public.
