Warri Kingdom Coronation Anniversary honors Olu of Warri with a week of faith, culture, and unity, marking four years of prosperous leadership
The Warri Kingdom Coronation Anniversary has officially begun as the Itsekiri people gather for a seven-day celebration marking the fourth coronation year of His Majesty Ògíamè Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri.

The festivities opened at the Palace Church in Aghofen with a thanksgiving service. Members of the Iwere Nation offered prayers and songs of praise, describing the monarch’s reign as four years of prosperous leadership and remarkable unity.

The opening ceremony doubled as a worship service and a collective prayer session, with participants seeking wisdom, peace, and prosperity for the Warri Kingdom.
The event highlighted the resilience and pride of the Itsekiri people under their revered traditional ruler.

The week-long Warri Kingdom Coronation Anniversary will feature diverse programs, including educational lectures, traditional homage ceremonies, and cultural exhibitions.
Sons and daughters of the kingdom are expected to take part in honouring the monarch’s leadership and achievements.
On August 19, the program includes the commissioning of a new hospital, an Itsekiri Language competition, and novelty football matches for men and women.
Nigerian football legends are expected to join the games, adding sporting energy to the cultural celebrations.
The Warri Kingdom Coronation Anniversary reflects the deep reverence the Itsekiri people hold for their traditional institution and their commitment to preserving heritage while celebrating progress under the Olu’s reign.
