Kebbi Police rescue two kidnap victims unhurt after a gun duel with bandits in Ribah district, reinforcing their commitment to citizens’ safety
Kebbi Police rescue efforts have paid off as the state command confirmed the safe recovery of two kidnapped victims in Ribah district, Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area.

Police spokesperson, CSP Nafi’u Abubakar, said in a statement on Saturday that the victims were rescued during an aggressive patrol around Dankade village.

The joint operation involved policemen, vigilantes, and hunters led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ribah.
According to Abubakar, the team engaged bandits in a fierce gun duel that lasted several hours. At the end of the encounter, two men 26-year-old Tukur Bello of Kembawa village in Augie LGA, Kebbi, and 25-year-old Isyaka Abubakar of Budun village in Gummi LGA, Zamfara were freed unhurt.

The victims had been abducted on August 9 while grazing in Gairi forest, Zamfara State.
They were immediately taken to a medical facility for examination before reuniting with their families.
The Commissioner of Police, Bello Sani, commended the Ribah DPO and his team for their resilience, professionalism, and determination in combating banditry.
He urged other divisional leaders to intensify patrols and ensure visibility policing across highways and nearby bushes.
