Bwala slams Peter Obi one-term promise, calling it a scam-phrase and claiming Obi is suffering an identity crisis, citing remarks from his former campaign aide
Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has taken a direct swipe at former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, mocking his pledge to serve only one term if elected president.

In a post shared Wednesday on X (formerly Twitter), Bwala described Obi’s one-term vow as the latest “scam-phrase,” suggesting it lacks sincerity and political weight.
Bwala also claimed that a former handler from Obi’s 2023 campaign said the ex-governor is battling an identity crisis.
“Breaking: ‘Peter Obi is suffering from identity crisis’ – These words came from one of his 2023 presidential election handlers,” Bwala wrote. “His latest scam-phrase is ‘I will do a one term.’”
Obi had reignited political conversation over the weekend after reaffirming his long-held promise:
“It is within this context that I reiterate my vow: I will serve only one term of four years if elected President. And that vow is sacrosanct.”
This statement drew mixed reactions across the political spectrum, with critics like Bwala questioning the credibility and strategic sincerity of such a promise.
Bwala’s criticism reflects the growing tension between Tinubu’s administration and opposition voices like Obi, whose influence among youth voters and urban electorates remains strong.
