In a recent episode of The Real Shareholders Podcast, Gabriel Oche Amanyi, better known as Terry G, stated clearly:
At least, judge me based on what I said there, not what I did.
“I’m an independent artist. I only went to political events to perform.”
The singer stressed that performing at a political function doesn’t mean he supports any party:
“If I had said people should vote for APC, that’s a different thing. I just did my job.”
Terry G received social media backlash in May 2023 after performing at President Bola Tinubu’s pre-inauguration concert in Abuja. He later accused some APC insiders of hijacking his payment.
He also pointed out the double standard in how fans reacted:
“At least, judge me based on what I said there, not what I did.”
