This was confirmed in a statement issued by Baba Jibo-Ibrahim, spokesperson for the Kano State Judiciary, following the 84th meeting of the Kano State Judicial Service Commission (JSC), held last Friday.

According to the statement, the Kano Judiciary demotes court registrar Salisu from Grade Level 13 to Grade Level 12 and relieved him of his role as the Registrar in charge of High Court No. 13 after he was found guilty of gross misconduct.
The commission stated that Salisu had forged the signature of a court bailiff and unlawfully assumed the role of Commissioner for Oaths in signing official documents.

“He admitted guilt and was found liable for gross misconduct,” Jibo-Ibrahim said.
As part of his sanction, Salisu received a stern warning from the commission and was cautioned to desist from further unethical conduct or from influencing others to commit similar acts.
The sanctions are intended to serve as a deterrent to other staff and curb absenteeism within the judiciary.
Failure to comply would attract harsher penalties, including potential criminal prosecution.
This disciplinary action, Jibo-Ibrahim noted, reflects the JSC’s zero-tolerance stance on misconduct and its commitment to upholding the integrity of the judicial arm of government.
In a separate case, the commission also demoted Yusuf Ayuba, a Clerical Assistant attached to High Court No. 8 on Miller Road, for gross absenteeism.
He was found to have been absent from duty without justification for four consecutive months.
Ayuba was demoted from Grade Level 5 to Grade Level 4 following an investigation by the Judiciary Public Complaints Committee.
“The sanctions are intended to serve as a deterrent to other staff and curb absenteeism within the judiciary,” Jibo-Ibrahim added.
