The commendation came during the official closing of the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream II orientation course at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Area.

The NYSC Coordinator in Bauchi State, Mr Umoren Kufre, expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammed for his administration’s efforts in renovating corps members’ hostels and camp officials’ blocks, as well as constructing a brand new multipurpose hall.

These improvements, he said, have created a more conducive environment for the orientation exercise and youth empowerment.

“This kind gesture will remain very fresh in our minds for a long time to come. Once more, thank you, Your Excellency,” Kufre stated during his address on Tuesday.

He noted that the governor’s actions portrayed him as “a good father of the youth” and applauded the provision of security and logistical support, which significantly contributed to the success of the three-week orientation programme.

The Bauchi NYSC camp upgrade aligns with the broader goal of providing a supportive environment for young Nigerians during their national service year.

The improvements have drawn attention for raising the standard of camp infrastructure in the region.

Kufre also extended appreciation to various collaborating agencies and individuals who played roles in ensuring the camp ran smoothly.

“My staff, as usual, were at their very best to ensure a seamless exercise. May God bless and reward you all,” he said.

The coordinator expressed deep appreciation to the Wailo Community for their continued hospitality, especially in providing casual labour and day-to-day assistance that made life easier for both corps members and camp officials.

He had high praise for the 1,300 corps members who completed the orientation, describing their discipline and cooperation as exemplary.

“I sincerely like to commend the patriotism, loyalty, patience, perseverance, understanding, and the good conduct of corps members during the orientation course,” he said.

As they prepare for their one-year primary assignments, Kufre urged them to remain obedient and diligent in their duties.

He encouraged them to quickly settle into their assigned communities, respect local customs, and contribute meaningfully to development efforts.

“The people of Bauchi State, as you have been told many times, are hospitable people, and the glaring proof, as you can see, are the buses sent by Local Government Councils to convey you to your places of primary assignment,” he said.

He added, “I implore you to reciprocate this good gesture by contributing your best to the upliftment of your host communities and Bauchi State in general.”

The Bauchi NYSC camp upgrade is being lauded not just for its physical transformation but also for reinforcing the commitment of the state government to youth empowerment and national integration.

Many corps members and officials at the event described the new infrastructure as transformative and morale-boosting.

With the successful deployment of corps members to various parts of the state, Bauchi continues to position itself as a model for NYSC support and community engagement.
