About 4 police officers were killed while others sustained injuries in an attack by suspected armed robbers along Ezzamgbo, axis of the Enugu/Abakaliki Express road.
The attack began when a bullion Van escort were heading to one of the first generational bank along Ogoja in Abakaliki when they got to the flying over where is still under construction, the robbers took it as an opportunity, and began to shoot the police officers.
fortunately, the driver of the van refused to give up and was able to escape with the money after an effort to block the bullion van failed. Though the drive was shot in the hand.
DSP Love this Odah, the spokeperson of Enugu State command confirmed the attack. She said the armed robbers couldn’t cart away with the money, as they headed back to Enugu after a failed mission.
According to report, the 4 bodies of the officers have been moved to a nearby hospital.
What is going in Nigeria today is not something funny at all. Banditry, armed robbery and boko haram terrorist are taking everywhere. Government needs to do something about this, before it becomes more difficult to compromise. The rate at which people are dying is more than ever, and this year, alot of innocent people have died.
